Crimson on lockdown, how it influenced on us?
Hell yeah, finally. We thought it may not happen even this time and we would need to change our activity in life to keep rolling.
I am joking – that would never happen! We are too passionate about tattooing to exit it because someone said you can’t tattoo for couple of months.
But that “STOP”, gave us much more than expected. Taught us think out of the box, create something new or even reincarnate old desires and skills. See bright horizons of future. So what actually happened to us and our minds during lockdown? Keep reading.
When lockdown was announced on 23rd of March it was not big shock – we expected it. We felt the shock after two months almost, when it was completely uncertain about studio reopening date. Maybe that is when something broke in our heads. One evening, I and our father of the studio WANDAL, sat together in empty Crimson. We started to imagine how would be best to organize the studio considering new realities (that time we didn’t even know what would be new rules!). But looking ahead – we did everything right. And in couple hours of discussion our vision were so clear that we could not perceive the design that we had anymore. Next day rebuilding started, and how it turned out you will see yourself when will visit us. No spoilers here (apart of the fact – it is amazing!).
We were following our team and having regular chats together. It was great to discover that Flavia got back to oil painting and painted absolutely amazing art during lockdown! We got a feeling like life cycle for some of us could be separated to “before lockdown” and “post lockdown”. As before lockdown life were so busy that most of us couldn’t find time to do something close to us and our souls, like painting on canvases for Flavia. We asked her to bring couple of paintings to the studio, and we are happy to say that they will be exhibited within our walls as well as available for purchase.
Our artists Nazar and Julita went into free mind flow and created many beautiful designs for tattooing post lockdown. Each piece has very own vibe, following own artist style and being truly beautiful and artistic. I am telling you, no analogues could be found! If you visited us before or following us for some time, you know already that we are up to custom work only. Apart of creating bespoke tattoos based on your ideas, our artists create tattoos that are based on their own art ideas. And these pieces are looking for skin of like-minded people.
Management team, including myself didn’t sit on one’s hand. Beside replies to all emails, requests and questions that we were getting from all of you, as well as keeping our feed live on different platforms and rebuilding of the studio, we were developing and improving ourselves in different ways. Max realized that he enjoys creating and building stuff using his own hands. With cooperation of one of the resident artists who made a design and came up with amazing idea of use and entertainment for that element, Max created big decor piece for our Crimson. You would ask, but what is it? Trust me, when you enter the studio, you won’t skip it! So let us not give you any spoilers – come to check it yourself.
I got a feeling that all that free time on lockdown I could use for studying. Without learning of new things I feel dusty! And I did it – I passed three different make-up marathons, deepened my knowledge of bridal and colorful make-up application. Completed marathon of watercolor painting. Now I am working on improving my skills in it! Also did phone photography and photo edit marathon learning new things about useful apps and methods of making photos on phone in best possible way. So yeah, kept myself busy!
WANDAL was working hard on lots of topics. Bringing and working on new ideas for our studio, drawing very cool projects for tattooing that he can’t wait to transfer to skin and show to you. As well developing his very own mobile game (teenager dreams coming to life!). He would be telling us more about that very soon and we would love to share exciting news about his development with you. We believe that you will find it not just interesting, but also inspiring for yourself and who know, maybe your creative part will break through walls of routine as well!
So what is this blog post about? It is about us, about our team members, who work hard no matter what. And we are extremely proud to have and be part of such amazing crew. We are proud when we receive your tattoo requests in these hard times. Understanding that you chose us for your tattoo idea warms our hearts. All of us will welcome you back to our studio from 16th of July! Even this year didn’t start too well for all of us, we are ready to smash it (of course in the most safe and hygenic way!).
